Chris began diving over 20 years ago. He has spent much of his time underwater in Hawaii, Catalina and Monterey Bay in California, Mexico, as well as the Caribbean. Chris is a PADI SCUBA Instructor. He enjoys underwater photography, and attempts to get truly unique pictures.
Chris is the Dive Safety Officer for Sea Life Park Hawaii. He created the dive safety program and enabled the park to become an accredited member of the American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS). Chris facilitates their scientific diver program, and oversees all SCUBA related activities on and off site. In addition, Chris has been doing consulting work for the Marine Aquarium and Marine Mammal programs at Atlantis on Paradise Island Bahamas, helping them to take the first steps towards becoming an AAUS member.
Chris is an active volunteer with organizations that focus on the
preservation and education of those underwater species he holds in such high regard. Chris has donated his time to the Waikiki Aquarium’s "Edge of the Reef" program, Project AWARE, Alien Algae cleanups in Hawaii, and very actively with Reef Check Hawaii, where he holds a position on the Board of Directors.
